Gt Allstars Golf Classic A Roaring Success

The inaugural "Classic" Golf Challenge, held the morning after the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, has been dubbed a resounding success by both drivers and race fans alike.

Whilst many wearing heads were evident at the roll call, the smiles on the faces as the groups of golfers returned showed that the couple hours was well and truly worth it and there were a number of requests for the event to become a regular feature of the Classic weekend.

"I think everyone had a pretty good day." explained Event Co-Ordinator Daniel Beard

"The Warrnambool Golf Course were brilliant in supporting the event and Manager Gary Parsons ensured everyone had a great time and a feed and has already announced that he would love to have us back next year."

The stories about many of the drivers antics on the course, which range from friendly rivalry to cart antics will be relived for some time by those who took part.

The day must also be remembered as a great day for the GT Allstars Relay For Life team which raised almost $2000 from the event.

The GT Allstars raise money to help fight for a cancer cure after the legendary George Tatnell lost his fight to the disease.

"This event is exactly what dad stood for, he loved being around people, having fun and competing." announced Brooke Tatnell

The organisers would like to once again thank the support of it's sponsors on the day which included Speedway Star, Premier Speedway and the Flying Horse Bar and Brewery.
