History Of Tatnell Racing

On December 26th 1987 George Tatnell's 16year old son Brooke took to the same dirt tracks that his father had carved out a legendary reputation. Since that first squeeze of the right foot at Liverpool speedway in Sydney’s outer west, Brooke has overcome adversity to become Australia’s most successful speedway export. Along the way Brooke has carved out his own page in history with victories in:

  • 3 - National Championships in concession
  • 3- Warrnambool Classic wins

  • 7 - World Series Championships

  • 13- State & track Championships

  • 3 - NCRA Championships in the USA

  • Victories with the World of Outlaws,
The toughest racing series in the world.

  • Winningest driver in World Series Sprintcar history

  • Fastest driver to ever circulate the famed Knoxville Raceway.

Despite winning over two hundred sprintcar races & championships in his career, what is more important is that the personality that is Brooke Tatnell has become one of the most popular & personal drivers at any racetrack around the globe.

In 2006 despite missing several rounds of the World of Outlaws Championship due to traveling back to Australia to spend time with his father George who was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, Brooke & the Rush Racing Team finished an impressive 5th in the championship.

Season 2007 Tatnell lead the charge with crew chief Troy Renfro to take the newly formed Larry Woodward Racing Volcano Joes Coffee black deuce back onto the World of Outlaws Championship tour with two victory's and a impressive seventh place at the Knoxville Nationals.

Season 2008- Was the season of “TLC” it was one of the most challenging season’s that Brooke has had in the states for years due to lack of funds and equipment but also one of the most enjoyable. That being said it was also very successful with two Knoxville victories and a 12th at the Knoxville Nationals plus 4 IRA victories. A big disappointment was blowing a motor at Knoxville leading with a World of Outlaws victory in sight. Brooke also ran for 6 different car owners throughout the season which included 2 dominant victories one with the World of Outlaws at Charlotte, NC filling in for the injured Craig Dollansky and winning the Jerry Richert Sr. Memorial at Cedar Lake aboard Guy Forbrook’s #5.
